Victory Air Displays

A “pictorial” history of the air shows held in Prague after the end of the Second World War. The aircraft featured in the displays were classic machines used during the war. The public was presented with aircraft such as the P-51D Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, B-17, B-29, A-26B Invader, F-80A Shooting Star, Spitfire, Meteor Mk. IV, Vampire, Lincoln, Anson, and Avro York.

A fascinating and little-known portrayal of aviation in the immediate post-war years. These were the last shows where aircraft from both sides of the emerging “Iron Curtain” appeared together, just as it was beginning to fall.
