Swedish Fortresses

 The book describes the civilian versions of the B-17, converted in Sweden from USAAF aircraft that landed there during the Second World War and were interned. It provides a detailed account of the fate of every B-17 that ended up in Sweden.

A special focus is given to the story of the B-17 Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby – from its landing in Sweden, through its service with Swedish airlines and later in France, to its return to the USA and restoration.

The book also includes, on separate A2-format inserts in a dedicated folder, 1/72 scale plans and colour profiles of all the B-17s, as well as the camouflage schemes in which they landed in Sweden.

The colour profiles measure 40 cm in length – with one as large as 60 cm!
