The book presents the history of one of the most important jet bombers of the 20th century – the Ilyushin Il-28 – in the context of its service with the Polish Air Force. The monograph describes the origins and development of the design and highlights the extensive operational experience gained with various versions of this aircraft in Poland. It includes a detailed technical description, service accounts, and crew testimonies.

The publication is enriched with numerous colour profiles by Artur Juszczak, archival photographs, and structural diagrams. In total, it contains over 350 photographs and 37 colour illustrations. Scale plans in 1/72 and 1/48 are available as a paid supplement.
