Douglas SBD Dauntless

The Dauntless was the best dive bomber built by the Americans during World War II. This tough monoplane enjoyed a long and extensive career with the US Navy and US Marine Corps, and its greatest moments occurred during the air-sea battles in the Pacific - the turning point of the war against the Japanese. It was also deployed by the US Army Air Force in a role based on the Ju87 Stuka.
