Info
Volume Six of Polish Aviation Designs presents the contribution of Poles to the development of aviation technology in the years 1955–1970.
The following, seventh volume describes achievements in the field of aircraft, helicopters and gliders from 1971 to 2020. This period covers the development of Polish aviation in the 1970s, following an attempt to limit it at the end of the 1960s.
The years 1971–1990 were marked by the dominance of licensed production for the Soviet Union, but also by the creation of many indigenous aircraft and glider designs, produced in series and exported to numerous countries. The next stage was the crisis of the early 1990s, the political transformation, the takeover of factories by foreign corporations, and the dynamic growth of ultralight aircraft production.
This volume contains information on aircraft, helicopters, gliders and motor gliders, while among ultralight aircraft, primarily serially produced designs are presented. Hang-gliders, paragliders and unmanned aerial vehicles are not included.
The designs discussed include, among others: the Institute of Aviation, PZL WSK-Okęcie, PZL WSK-Mielec, WSK PZL-Świdnik, the works of E. Margański, A. Frydrychewicz, J. Janowski, Aero AT – Samoloty Antoniewskiego, Konsuprod, Aerotec DEKO M. Dębski, amateur aircraft, and SZD.
The publication contains about 600 photographs and 400 drawings and plans. In addition, a separate book is available presenting the colour schemes of the aircraft described in Volume VII.
